My friends and I have been doing Meeble Burrows and discovering annoying things about the whole system. I don't think the existing information is clear or easy to understand, so given the many mistakes I've made trying to lead this, I think I can post a little bit of information regarding some aspects of the battlefield.
I had a lot of questions about boons and grimoires and gaining access to purchase items with your research marks. Upon starting this thing, I was under the impression that you needed to achieve Goal 3 in order to obtain the highest boon. That is not the case. You receive a higher boon based on how many times you've successfully completed the expedition. All recorded boons get wiped from your grimoire upon fighting an NM from expedition #5. Because everybody in the party is required to sign up for the fifth expedition, it means that everyone's boons get wiped, not just the party leader's. I did not know this upon fighting our first NM, and we barely had any boons. I went back to check my grimoire and while the boons from Rank Adjunct had been wiped, and access to Expedition #5 had been revoked, the grimoire still had my progress recorded from Expeditions #1-#4. While we haven't retried expedition #4, I'm assuming that upon successful completion of #4, we will be able to gain access to #5, the NM fight.
Edit 7/3/13: Well this was written on 12/13/12 originally. My friends and I built up whatever stats we thought we needed for the Goldwing fight. But needless to say we abandoned doing Meeble Burrows before we tried the fight for the second time. It's been so long since I've done this that I don't really remember what we were doing, really. Another abandoned project, and one less thing to play in game.
